Responsibilities

Your day-to-day (as a Senior Visual Designer, you’ll):

 

  • Seek out opportunities to create and art direct amazing ad campaigns. Take ownership of these projects from concept to completion, making sure to capture a client’s message and deliver on their goals
  • Mentor a team of designers to help develop their skills
  • Design content (infographics, case studies, ebooks, whitepapers) and interactive content (microsites, quizzes, product selectors, and landing pages)
  • Shift from brand to brand, working both within established brand guidelines and creating new styles when the opportunity arises
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously (amid break-neck speeds)
  • Interpret briefs to create designs that are functional, compelling, and message driven (“pretty” is great, but just a by-product)
  • Handle and make use of constructive feedback from other members of the team (your skin is 42 miles thick)
  • Ability to work with non-designers and clients to help them realize their vision

Qualifications

What does it take to do this job?

 

Must haves:

  • 7–10 years of hands-on design experience
  • Stellar design skills demonstrated in previous work (solid typography, color theory, layout, and thoughtful visual design) and an online portfolio that showcases them
  • Reliability, attention to detail, and capacity to understand and follow brand guidelines closely
  • Analytical problem-solving chops
  • Ability to stay calm and manage several projects, work within tight deadlines, and shift gears quickly
  • Enthusiasm, creativity, and a desire to collaborate with a team
  • Natural mentor to other designers
  • Expert level software: Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Advanced level software: Sketch and Invision
  • Killer communication skills across a wide spectrum of personalities
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Command of copywriting basics
  • Advertising experience
  • Strong web design knowledge, up-to-date on current trends
  • Eye for photography
  • BA in design or comparable experience

 

Nice to haves:

  • Demonstrated illustration skills
  • HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills
  • Photography experience
  • After Effects
