    Responsibilities

    Your day-to-day (as a Custom Analytics Manager, you’ll):

    • Oversee all phases of custom analytic projects (e.g., attribution modeling, social analytics, business intelligence, product performance, etc.) for Spiceworks and Spiceworks’ customers. Project phases include:
      • Scoping
      • Design
      • Timeline management
      • Client management
      • Data collection/staging
      • Analytics
      • Visualization
      • Presentation
    • Lead cross-functional collaboration with product and engineering, sales, marketing, etc.
    • Work collaboratively with the Marketing Science analytics team to manage custom analytic projects.
    • Inform best practices and standards of execution to develop scalable reporting and analytic solutions.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to analysts.
    • Oversee project pipeline, priorities and resource allocation.
    • Oversee revenue prediction, attainment and recognition.
    • Identify and operationalize opportunities for automation/outsourcing.
    • Manage vendor/partner relationships.
    • Inform staffing, budget, and other operational decisions.
    • Work hard, be creative, have fun, stay calm, and get stuff done in an ultra fast-paced, innovative environment.

    Qualifications

     

    Qualifications: What does it take to do this job?

    • 7-10 years’ experience in data analytics — preferably deriving actionable business insights from unstructured, distributed and diverse data sets.
    • 5+ years’ experience managing people.
    • 5+ years’ experience using SQL or other querying language.
    • Experience with Tableau or other data visualization software.
    • Experience with text analysis/social analytics.
    • Stellar interpersonal skills and proven ability to work successfully with management, internal teams and customers to make great results happen.
    • Out-of-this-world project management skills — you can multi-task and complete complex projects flawlessly and under tight deadlines.
    • Expert in client management — you build and maintain strong, healthy relationships, and can successfully manage multiple relationships simultaneously
    • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment.

    Nice to haves: What will make this job easier?

    • A strong understanding of technology and IT, particularly B2B.
    • Familiarity with market research (e.g., sampling methodology, survey design, data collection and processing, analysis and reporting).
    • Familiarity with R, Python, SPSS.
